Probably a pre-set filter (lightroom or other). Probably something rather similar in the nik filters that became free.

Very best,

Very best,

What would you call this kind of edit? Trying to find something on the internet to teach me how to do it.

Thanks

Very best,

The first thing that came to mind when I first saw this was the NIK software?????

There's a black vignette. The other effect looks like an adjustment of the gamma in post-processing. I'm only guessing. It looks similar to changes that I've seen when I've experimented with it. I don't care for them, which explains my inexperience and guessing.

Hi, Jessi,

I'm not one for presets or especialised software. There's no one-fits-all preset; for the most part, a preset is just a starting point. I just don't bother.

Looking at her images, I find the following: the base setting is low-key lighting, with moderate fill. In the first photo you linked to she seems to have used a beauty dish or a medium octabox. The background is barely litten, just enough to shew a bit of it.

When it comes to post-processing, she seems fond of using the curve tool to raise the black point's output. That gets you the hazy effect some of her photos have (and that I seem to recall you were perchance trying to get in camera with a hazed piece of glass?).

Another trick is to desaturate the image a bit.

In some images, such as the Zuz-a photo, the micro-contrast seems to have been boosted. Play with the Clarity slider here and see for yourself.

Finally (for now), her images seem to be underexposed a bit. I'd advise getting a right exposure in camera, and then lowering the Exposure value in your RAW processor.

PS: Again, you need to start with a properly litten and exposed photograph. The foundation of her style is the lighting, then everything follows.
