All look low contrast to me but especially the first 2 shots.
You shouldn't really have to play with contrast no matter what screen you are using. Just adjust exposure using a histogram and perhaps colour temp to around 5500'C if using flash.

The first one eg looks wrong to me.
As a sanity check, in PS go Image>Adjustments>Curves>Options>Enhance Per Channel Contrast

Sometimes the result is surprising. See what it thinks of the histogram by the lines on the graph:

THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.

It's not always "right" but here it looks a lot better. If your bug's inside a daffodil a yellow cast might be right but it still looks odd if it's too strong, so I reduce it without eliminating it.
You might want to reduce clipping to minimum or 0.

Will that work in Elements 15? I'm in the middle of a stack or I'd check myself.

Dunno mate, I don't have it :)
You should be able to open Photoshop while running Zerene Stacker, I could with my old XP box with 3GB Ram. (The one which took one minute per image)
It's a bit slower if you're actually doing anything in PS!

Yes the first is certainly low in contrast, probably mostly needs the black point being increased first before you touch contrast.

You might want to rely on the editor's histogram whilst you are on that laptop, else try and calibrate the display a bit.

What do people think about this? I am on my old PC but I don't think that's colours and brightness are 100% reliable

It's alright, albeit a bit dark to me.

Agreed on low contrast and looking a bit dark, if you have access to the histogram with the program you're using and basic curves (or even levels) adjustments, you should be able to restore a fair bit of contrast and adjust exposure by monitoring the histogram.

It is interesting that you both think it is too dark, I wonder if part of the problem is my eyesight (I am colour blind).
My wife always says my phone is far too dark to use.
I tried again and this looks too bright to me

I think this where I changed the temperature to 5500 is best
