Our first trip 10 years ago was the "Great African Potn Safari".
It's been used a lot since.. makes searching for fellow threads easy.

I think we timed it pretty magically, it was approaching sunset, we were getting ready to head back to the camp,.. had about a 30 minute drive ahead of us and would take it slow, and I guess that was about the same time the leopard decided it was time to come down for a drink/hunt.. who knows. So we there looking at leaves for maybe 10 15 minutes? It was so hard to see him at that point that even after seeing him once, and knowing he was there, if you took your eyes off him, you'd lose him and have to start looking again.

I doubt I would have seen him with just the 400mm, it was only with the 500mm with 1.4x t-con (700mm) that I actually could make him out.
