1st shot the remains of an RAF lightning lie just outside RAF Conningsby. Whilst in the lower shot its the former RAF Binbrook , the Lightnings days in RAF service are over and the scrapman has arrived, prob 1989

Sad to see that scrapper, had several visits to Binbrook including the Lightning farewell which if I remember correctly was a shockingly miserable pouring with rain type of day,

After a 3 and a half hour drive, I sat in full waterproofs on the flight-line looking after all our gear whilst my pals cruised/waded around the static displays. I didn't get my camera out, we gave up after a couple of hours and headed back home soaked through.

Still had some good days up there as well, was quite good for photography, must get round to scanning my vintage stuff.

Thanks for the memories

Kev
