Yes, I think crazy a good adjective. To my eyes, the background distracts from the attractive portraits.

It absolutely does.

Plus they look soft, especially picture 1.

Soft is often a good picture quality. I have clients ask for soft.

Nothing against you, but those lenses would be binned for me, to much distraction from the subject.

The 2nd is really nice but the 1st it soft/oof, underexposed and not superly cropped.
