I'm trying to find the best photoshop book for Adobe cs6. I'd highly appreciate any help. Thanks!

Not sure about cs6, but I used a "Book for Dummies" when I got PSE for the first time. I actually learned more via you tube.

You can learn just about everything you need to know about photoshop for free on Youtube. Tons of good stuff there, check out the Phlearn channel.

I suggest Martin Evening's book for CS6:

It is geared toward learning PS for photography and is written in a methodical, easy to understand style.

You can probably find used copies for cheap.

Online videos are the best. You can search whatever particular thing that you are trying to do. Much better than trying to figure it with a book.

lots of garbage on youtube mixed in with all the good stuff. IMO it is hard for a beginner to determine what is worth their time. If you "learn" a bogus concept it can really mess up the way one think about editing.

www.lynda.com (external link) is a great video resource.

actual book publishing is under so much pressure lately, i suspect that most would be well suited to proper learning ... as long as the author has a few titles published.

Michael Kieran is a well respected author of photoshop books.

Check out these guys. I'd start with Phlearn. Aaron will show everything you need to know.

Not all are CS6 ... but the most of Photoshop's features are universal from CS5 to CC.
