What is the best way to mix multiple track of video in Adobe Premiere and switch back and forth between tracks? I've been splitting all the tracks where I want to switch between tracks, and disabling all but the track that I want to be visible. It's works but it seems like there should be a better way.

Premiere is an editor not a live mixing tool. Cut and transition. Bin the stuff you don't want or move it to a hidden track!

I think that this is the only way to do it in premiere PRO, but since in your final mix you will render a stereo track (or 5.0?) just create audio tracks for audio sequences you are using, and delete those you are not using (or part of them)..you can create as many audio tracks as you want..so no need to switch between several..
Hope this sounds enough clear.

You have several tools in Premiere:
1. Clip gain. Right-click on an audio clip, select “gain”, put in a positive number or negative number to increase/decrease the volume of the entire clip.

2. Track gain. Select the audio workspace. Use the audio track mixer to raise/lower entire tracks. This is not keyframeable.

3. The real power is in the clip volume envelope aka. volume rubber band. Click and drag in the track header area to increase the height of the audio track. Grab the Pen tool. Click on the faint line in the middle of the clip and drag it up/down, which gives you 6db adjustment in either direction. Every time you click the line creates a new keyframe or control point. With 2 of them, you can create a fade up or fade down. With 4 you can duck the music under dialog.

Premiere CC also includes Audition, which is a full sound editing/mixing software... for the complicated stuff!
