This is not a walkaround lens... it's for tripod landscape/architecture work... at least for me it will be. Size does't bother me.

Why not? And who's to say that the M mount isn't big enough for FF glass? The E mount ended up being adaptable to FF glass.

An EF mirrorless body would be completely pointless in my opinion. If they're going to build a smaller camera that used EF glass they might as well make a smaller DSLR... I still don't get why they haven't done that. Give us an AE-1 size camera and they'd have my interest again.

The f/2.8 is nice and given how well the other two red label zooms perform I’m excited be the prospect of working in tight spaces. No more panos in tiny rooms for me. I’ll have 8-140 in 2.8 zooms

Now if they would just release a tilt/shift 16mm prime... (I’ve been told not any time soon)

The 8-16mm can suite me fine in my events. I just find the 10-24mm too slow often even if the X-t2 is decent in high iso quality.

Hey Kim, do you use the 16-55 alot? For my photography world I often have the 24mm or UWA as my favourite lens. The reason why I don't own a 16-55 yet is because my Canon 24-70L f/2.8mk2 collects dust. However when I need it....I need it. This is why I still have the 16-55 on my radar.

The biggest thing for me on the 8-16 is it's range. 12-24 is perfect for me and the fact this is 2.8 is even better.

I could see me being a big Fuji user up to 50mm equivalent and then from 85mm beyond being a FF Canon user. Just hard to give up 85 1.4 on FF.

I'm really anticipating this firmware!! I'll have to say one thing I'm seriously impressed with Fuji is their software/firmware updates on current and older bodies.

I'm assuming Fuji's data transfer rates to SD cards would be very good based on 4k video options. Faster AF speeds just reduces lag. I wonder if this will help with single shot but I'm not certain if a change in algorithms aids in single shot mode.

Nikon or Canon probably don't ever provide such firmware in AF-C. For the Canon world it seems the AF improvements are usually weighted heavily on newer processor speeds. My current Canon gear seems to be extremely fast in AF-C as well as single shot.

X-T20 got this first. X-E3 next... and XT2/Xpro2 get this via firmware.

Not really new... just new to everything but XT20. Thats why you don't see the XT20 have this in it's firmware breakdown. Happy to see the XT20 gets the new LCD features though!!!

Not a lot but there are times when I need it so, like you, it's great that I can have it on hand. I always was a prime guy I just prefer the feeling of 'this is the angle this camera shoots with' & usually I take three cameras with me.

True, but again I switched to Fuji for smaller size, that's why I'm torn. My lenses seem to be getting bigger and bigger the deeper down the Fuji hole I go.

That's why I'm torn, I want it, but I don't want the size.

Have you seen the size of the Samyang 12mm? It's small.

A small, fast prime would be great. They could do an 8mm that is NOT a fisheye maybe? f1.2?

I have, and I own it, which is probably the reason I won't end up ever getting the 8-16.....but still it's so tempting!

Does anyone think they will release an X80 this year if they didn't announce it during this?
