Hi all,

My first post in a good few years; in fact Sunday was my first outing in a very long while. Had a very enjoyable day out at Snetterton thanks to a gift from my wife; I had to literally dust off the old camera gear. I didn't do a very good job as you can see from the specs on some of the images. All taken with my trusty 30d with a 75-300mm. I'd love to provide some annotation of who and what but unfortunately I couldn't find anywhere to grab a program. I ended up with 20 keepers out of 700+ images and in an attempt not to bore you with a whole load of panning shots, here are a small selection.

Good work. 20:700 -that sounds about my keeper rate :) One trick I've used a bit for cameras with very ordinary AF, prefocus on a particular point, then smoothly pan until the vehicle hits your predetermined spot, then snap. Start with higher shutter speeds to confirm your focus point, then just slowly wind it back. Great fun :)

Oh, & the Wine gums. I haven't seen them for years. You have great taste

That worked well back when we had to manual focus the lenses. Now I prefer AI Servo & concentrating on holding a focus point on the same point of the car. Try both. See what works best for you. ; )
