I probably have some 20k on my 5D4 and haven't even thought about it. I cleaned my 5D3 once it hit 50k after 3 years.

Never for me. I clean my sensors myself.

I had my 5DII cleaned by Canon once. Mainly because I had sent it in to get the top LCD glass replaced. Otherwise, never.

When I clean my camera I always use Best Universal Grit Grime and Effluent Remover.

I never send my cameras in for cleaning. It's easy enough to do yourself, and the kit costs about as much as one cleaning anyway.

"Never" for me in sending directly to Canon. We do have a local camera shop that on occasion runs some tech sessions and they have a free cleaning clinic but that involves cleaning the exterior, the mirror, sensor and viewfinder. They will also do the front and rear optics of any lens you bring. Beyond that I do wipe down my gear before storing it. I would guess it takes a tech 15 minutes for the body and perhaps 2 to 3 minutes for each lens.

I bought a new Toyota Rav4 about the same time I bought my 6D. I've had Canon clean my 6D about as often as I've had Toyota Motor Corporation wash my car.
