Greetings,
I have recently acquired the 35-350 lens, though it did not come with the hood. The original one is quite rare, and often expensive, I am still in the process of trying to find one that is a)cheap enough b) will ship to my country
I will end up needing one eventually, and it is always good to have one ready, because I mostly shoot at packed places, protests, etc.
Anyways, I was thinking, if anyone happens to know, whether any of the other lens hoods designed for other Canon lenses might work with this particular example. Unfortunately I have no means of testing that myself, so I am hoping someone picked up a rumor along the way. There is always the option of "universal" screw in lens hoods, but to be honest, that is my last (and by far the cheapest) option. The official designation for the lens hood is EW-78 or EW-78 II. The 28-135 uses a similar hood and has the same 72 millimeter diameter, if I am not mistaken.
But, on the other hand, there is this:
Canon EW-78B Fits Canon EF 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Canon EW-78B II Fits Canon EF 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Canon EW-78C Fits Canon EF 35 f/1.4L USM
Canon EW-78D Fits Canon EF 28-200 f/3.5-5.6, EF 28-200 f/3.5-5.6 USM
If anyone is able to help, please do.
Cheers!
