Point being I was surprised the RX10 IV would get this detail
Jamie

The camera can pick up amazing detail. The lens is soooo sharp I'm constantly amazed at what I'm getting on a 1inch sensor. :)

Lovely shot and colours. Have you processed it much out of the camera?

I used the "camera vivid" profile in lightroom. Reminds me of old Fujifilm.

And for a contrast, a B&W from the same area (converted with SilverEfexPro).

Two shots, one at ISO 400 and the other at 1600. Same distance and perch at about 15-20 ft. Not bad IMO though loss of detail 1600.

While I've wasting my life playing golf there are great images being posted. Please keep them coming. After a Saturday tournament I'll likely be back behind the viewfinder.

Took the RX10m4 as my main camera to Skomer Island, just off the coast of Wales. There are thousands upon thousands of puffins on the island at this time of year. The M4 coped extremely well, much better than the other dSLR's that the people I went with had. The puffins are like little speeding torpedos shooting across the sky. They then flick their wings out to quickly stall and drop to the floor. The M4 tracked them in flight extremely well. I had one batch of 65 images of one bird in flight - all sharp... :D

Anyway here are a couple of images... ;)
