He was riding that weed like a rodeo cowboy. The thing was blowing all over the place in the wind. :-)

Sat out back this morning with a cup of coffee, yard birds, & the RX10.

While sitting out back, I noticed what looked like a Hawk soaring around above the yard. This is not uncommon, as they periodically catch a bird at a feeder.

When I pulled the RX10 up to look, I was shocked to see that it was a Mississippi Kite. After watching for a bit, I noticed he was capturing insects (Dragon Flys, I think) & eating overhead. Then, before long the whole clan was circling above. It appeared to be two adults & two juvis. What a treat it was to see them over the house. They were a good ways up, but the RX10 did a respectable job of locking on and tracking them.

Has anyone else ever had this happen?

I had just taken a short burst (approx. 5 shots) and this message came up on the screen. I selected [Enter] to proceed and all seemed ok. When I imported the images from my card into LR, I got an import error that two (2) files were corrupt and skipped.

I ALWAYS reformat my cards (in camera) after downloading images. The card is less than a month old and it's seemed to be fine otherwise...???...

I've had it once. I was on high burst mode and switched the camera off accidentally before it had fully saved all of the images. When I next switched it on it had the same error message. Formatted and it hasn't happened since.

Given some of you have had the mkIV longer than I, is it advisable to have an extra battery? Any suggestions regarding other add ons would be appreciated.

Definately. I bought the Wasabi plug in charger that came with an extra battery.

This is not the greatest IQ because of the significant camera to subject distance, but this is one of those shots that really shows me the power of the RX10M4. I was tracking a pair of Egrets in flight off in the distance in continuous mode shooting. I didn't even know I had this frame until after I got home and enlarged it on my computer. I had to crop this significantly, but even so, it displays very well on social media sites and gives a strong overall effect. I call this your "run-of-the mill sideways flying Egret dipping wing in water with reflection" shot.

This guy was so close to the road, I couldn't use my A9, as I had my Canon 500 plus 1.4 mounted to it, and he was too close to focus. MKIV to the rescue!
