Blue-headed Vireo

Blue-headed Vireos used to aptly be called Solitary Vireos as they generally eschew the company of humans as well as other birds. So, I am always pleased when one or two shows up here during fall migration. I consider them a high-value target compared to some of the more common species.

Oh, I've seen it snow a couple inches in September and October, but it usually doesn't get serious until November and later. Oddly enough it has yet to freeze here; that's most unusual.

Thank you, Pitter. I think it was changed a while back. Some of these changes are hard to incorporate and I have to work so as not to revert.

We were lucky thanks. It moved a little south and spared us. The keys were not so lucky
