Mannequin head for lighting practice

Tired of asking family members for posing, i got myself a mannequin head from Amazon. I picked this particular one for the realistic looking eyes.

This is helpful.

The eye-sockets seem to be deeper than normal in the center under the brow. It isn't affecting your ability to get good light patterns, but it creates an unusual shadow.

Did you get a model release prior to posting?

what batteries does it take???

Yeah, it's kind of creepy seating at the corner of the room, at least it small enough to hide. I was considering a full body one so I could have more ways too shoot with, but I could not pass the stage of asking my wife to borrow her dress.

The eye sockets are deep and the eye balls are looking downward a bit. I think they make this mannequin to display hair pieces and hats.

Don't need model release. She could sue me, then I just have to pay myself

hahaha I saw I was the only one that found these things creepy! I had one head before and always left it in the garage and looking towards the wall

Wow, this is wonderful and looking at Amazon with the other mannequins it's low in price.

The pupils are they glass or plastic as it seems that they reflect a catch light in them and that is what I would like to have to be able to review the lighting patterns and in trying to do lighting styles from another photographers picture.

I had several years ago picked up a cheaper mannequin head that didn't work well with shadow patterns and this is much better but as stated it still isn't quite human in skin texture and maybe with some make up will reflect and shadow better?

Thank you for posting the site you purchased it from and I will be looking at all their options as I don't family members who would like to take the time to assist and it's a lot cheaper than paying a model to practice.
