Nikon D850 Owners Group

Hello everyone! Just a quick group for all you D850 owners out there. Show me what you've got.

I wish I could find one to purchase but have had no luck!

Trying to get one on pre-order, but waiting for a trade-in price for my D810!

Got one.

After 11 years with Canon, it is very strange indeed, but its a great camera, done 2 studio sessions with it,
but hope to get out and try it out in natural light soon. I think I pretty much got used to it now, the familiar (from the Canon) dedicated ISO button,
and the joystick for selecting AF points made it a lot easier to get used to it

Rated the Camera to 9/10 because the Menu system is in my opinion not up to the cameras standard, and is missing some AF functionality compared to my previous Canon 5Ds. - But AF performance is as far as I can tell at least as good, if not even better as the Canon's.

I had some luck, because someone for some reason declined his copy, and luckily I could get my hands on that one instead of waiting for one maybe till next year.

So I am a happy chap, now need to get some more lenses.

D850 has arrived! I will wait 'til Christmas when I have more time to play with it.

Congrats! I'd love to have one but I'm not sure if I'd want to replace the D4 with it.

Got it. Was lucky enough to place an order a few hours after they went on sale. Going from a d700 to this. It's a different beast, that's for sure. Going from 12 MP to nearly 50 is a lot more demanding on your lenses.

I don't think I would want to replace a D4 with it either. The D4 is a proper pro camera, whereas I still feel that the D8** range is prosumer despite the price!

I was late placing my order, so I am fortunate to get it before Christmas. You are right about the demand on lenses. I found only my 85 prime was sharp enough on the D810, so 46 MP will definitely test the lens out!

I was wondering how you found a D850 "on sale"; then I realized you were probably just saying "after they were available for purchase." lol

Any feedback on this testing? I am hoping my Sigma ART 35 and 85 would perform well on a D850!

I know it sounds crazy, but I have hardly used the camera since getting it. However, the few shots I have taken with the 85 f/1.4 have been exceptionally sharp. I would think that your Sigma ART lenses would perform really well on the 850!

I think I will soon bite the bullet and get one.
In the past few months I have been doing mostly video with a Panasonics GH4 and drone with a Phantom 4 Pro.
But recently I restarted doing a lot of timelapses and the GH4 really don't cut the mustard.
I crave the resolution and ISO capabilities of the D850

I have a question regarding the price:
Here in the UK I see a huge difference going from £2600 (srl hut, digitalrev store) to £3500 in regular stores.
Is this some sort of grey import or illegal activity?
