Check DxO Optics Pro. At basic conversion (demosaicing) it's much better than ON1 Photo RAW, almost as good as Canon's DPP.
I think you can get a free version until end of Nov 2017.

Adobe product managers have said that Lr is in serious need of updating.....it is still basically the 2015 version. Both PS and even Elements have been updated.

EDIT: Installed and did a first check of DxO OpticsPro 11 Essential. I think you should start a new thread with this info, to let more people benefit from it. Cameras: EOS M & M3 --- Lenses: 22mm EF-M, 18-55mm EF-M, FD 50mm f/1.4, EF-S 55-250mm IS II, Sigma 600mm f/8

I have 8 free but 9 free didn't work for me, 11 free works great. I've even thought about buying it. Free is much better, I like free! Mark

It has some interesting features. I have gotten no response from OnOne other than an automated acknowledgement of receipt of my inquiry. Kirk

Compared to the free ver. 9 Elite, with the current 11 Essential you get improved Selective tone controls (better highlight recovery) but lose Moire correction.

Yes, I'm loving 11 Essential. It has all the tools that I use most except perspective control, their "Prime" NR, and de-haze. I have Noiseware so I'm good on NR and I can still use 8 Elite for perspective control. I also don't miss the de-haze feature, because I know how to reduce haze without it...lol. I'm, very happy with the free download and have no plans to buy the Elite version 11. Mark

I received an email from On1 the day after the 2018 reveal telling me that I would be getting a FREE upgrade to 2018 when it was released the end of this month.
