I was shooting youth football yesterday when I got distracted by a Mockingbird. He was singing his heart out waiting for bugs to fly by so he could fly off and eat them. I was using my 70-200 at the time so these are pretty heavily cropped. Sadly, my 100-400 was in my bag across the field and my 150-600 was sitting at home. I grabbed the 100-400 at halftime, but by that time a young girl had grabbed her mother's camera and was taking photos of the bird with an 18-55 lens. I gladly loaned them the 100-400 - she said she was taking photography at her school and I thought it was cool to let her try out a big white lens.
