I had bought my 6D with 24-105 almost 5 years back. I am an hobyist and was pretty satisfied with my kit excepting 70-300 which lacks reach and age of camera. So was looking around for a switch of my full kit
I was planning to switch to Sony7ii with 28 , 55 and 100-400 lenses. However three factors ruled out this switch.. 1. 6D commands reasonable price in india as it is the back up camera with marriage photographers, but rest of kit was going very cheap... 2. Sony 100-400 lens is costlier than canon equivalent.. 3. AF points are only -1 sensitivity.. felt it may not match centre AF point of 6D in low light
My second option was Nikon 750.. with very good value for money 80-200 lens. However Nikon doesn't have 35mm lens with VC option to use it as walk around lens.
So after studying the whole issue for 2 months, just went for boring option of upgrade to 6Dii. My first impression..
1. New 24-105 lens makes camera slightly forward heavy. May be question of getting used to heavier and longer lens
2. Pictures have punchier colours
3. Larger impressive array of AF points. But with limited coverage. Even with outermost point have to recompose after focussing on eye.
4. 1600 auto ISO with flash attached.. up from 400 ISO of 6D
5. Beefier grip
So now looking for a used canon 100-400 lens. May be Tamron 100-400 will be good value for money
Thanks.. just sharing
