I'm trying to hook my Android tablet up as a live view monitor to my canon t1i.

I purchased a cable that in a video showed it working but I don't know what program the guy used to hook up.

So I'm looking for some help in figuring out if their is an APP that I can use to hook my t1i up to my phone or tablet.

If their is an IPad/IPhone app I can use an IPhone as well.

Bodies: Sony A6000, T3i and Xti(needs repairs, but use in manual)
Lenes: Sony 16-50(kit), Canon 50 F1.8, Sigma 24-70 F2.8-4, Canon 70-210 F4, Canon 55-250 IS, Canon 75-300, and Canon 18-55(auto focus is broken so I use it on the Xti)

Canon makes their own app. Works great.

I just use wireless, fwiw. Not sure the early T series have that built in though.

Hmm, I thought USB was supported by a Canon app, but I'm not seeing it.

DSLR Controller is probably the best option.

DSLR Controller App for Android is a paid app. It shows as compatible with with the T1i but you also need to make sure that your Android device is compatible and that you are using an OTG cable. See this page for info on compatibility and cables https://dslrcontroller.com/devices.php (external link)

Although the app itself is paid the developer offers a free compatibility testing app https://play.google.com …u.chainfire.remoterelease (external link) so you can test your set up and make sure it works before paying for the app.

I have had the paid app for some time and it is very good.

I'm trying to hook my Android tablet up as a live view monitor to my canon t1i.

What specific tablet are you using?

DSLR Controller is only $8 and if you remove it from the tablet within 2 hours it is automatically refunded. Having said that you may need some hardware (special OMG cable) before doing the testing. Go to https://dslrcontroller.com/devices.php (external link) and scroll down to the "Cables" section for details.
