I have little Lumix P&S for years. It was so small, I kept on loosing it and finally it disappeared without return. By the time it happened it has plenty of use from me and kids. Battery, memory card door failed, lens was not easelly retracting from time to time. I replaced it with more modern Canon tiny P&S, but it is nowhere near to the image quality of little Lumix.
So, I purchased another little Lumix. Those are from 2007-2012 models. Small, x5 2.8 OS Leica lens in them and CCD sensor. They give best BW SOOC I ever seen. Color images are nice and sharp enough for P&S at low ISO. Not like Canon P&S where image is only sharp if it is close and with flash.
Putty, Panasonic seems to drop this line for bigger and expensive cameras...
Cheers, Ko.

UPD: The Lumix is back, it was hiding in my ski suit :)
