Among, say, Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fuji, etc., what camera brand (in-general) would you say tends to make the most ergonomic cameras? And we can include the menu as part of that for mental ease. This really came to mind today shopping with my wife. I took her out to hold cameras to prepare for buying. It's the first time in years that I held a bunch all at once. I was amazed at how uncomfortable compact cameras were for me to hold. Including the likes of Sony a6300 etc.. It reminded me that shooting photos should be fun, enjoyable or comfortable. It's given me temporary pause to mirrorless cameras too.

A recent change at my end was removing grips from my full frame Canon DSLRs, and it took me two weeks to adjust to the shrinkage of size for handling.

A bit like asking, "What is the most comfortable brand of athletic cup?"...it is all dependent upon the individual as to which one is best!

Yep, the question makes no sense. Your wife will almost certainly like a different camera to you (from an ergonomic stand point) or me or the next person to come along, because her hands are different and what she likes/thinks is important is different. My pal loves the feel of his Nikon I hate it and prefer Canon. I also love the feel of my Fuji but for completely different reasons.

The question here is not to my wife. It's to other photographers. I wasn't even thinking of relaying the poll results to her. This has zero to do with her camera purchase. I'm just wondering what other photographers find more comfortable to hold and use.

This is kind of a silly question, but I'll say that I switched to Fuji largely because of the ergonomics.

Having physical dials for everything and a compact body makes shooting much more enjoyable for me.

Same for me with Fujifilm, it was the ease of use that I liked. It's not a clunky setup. Before Fuji, the Canon v Nikon was won by Canon because it felt better in my hand then the Nikon did.

Ask a bunch of primarily Canon users which body/brand is more ergonomic? A bit like asking the for views on religion in a church on Sunday morning, dontchathink?

Ergonomics is a funny thing. You tend to vote for what you have because that is what you are use to and you don't know any better. Ask a Canon owner and Canon has the best. Ask a Fuji owner and it's Fuji, etc. The question should only be answered by those that shoot both every day.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I would be very interested in the latter if the people were in a place where they could answer hmmmm objectively?.. or at least, honestly. ;)

OK. I have no interest in which camera people find more ergonomic. I am way too invested in Canon for it to matter. I agree with Karl Marx, completely, about the other topic.

From one point of view, but maybe not from another. I'm curious how camera comfort and ergonomics might factor in regarding why, and how many photographers stick with certain brands, amidst changing technology and options from manufacturer to manufacturer.

The latter was a reference to the church goers. ;)

Leica M8, M9. Only few menus and if it is matching with Leica made lens with focus tab it is very ergonomical. Camera/lens is compact and my noise is not in the middle of the screen. :)
Canon 5D was kind of like what with L lens. Not so much menus are easy to fiddle with. But it became too bulky for me...

I knew that. I thought it was obvious that mine was, too. A bit puzzled at your post.

One thing I don't like about Fuji is how they handle variable aperture lenses (unmarked ring). I liked being able to look down see/adjust everything even without power on a prime lens, but that wasn't possible with a variable aperture lens and I found it a bit annoying.
