My Canon 7D Mark II started having an issue with the big wheel in the back when I try and change the aperture in manual mode. This dial is also used to scroll back and forth through you images when reviewing them. Has anyone experienced this issue?

Is it the same issue as described here:

Thanks Dennis, but that was the first thing I checked and mine is all the way to the left in the unlocked position. I even went into the menu under custom control and my quick control dial Aperture setting in M mode is set for the large dial. I am stumped.-?

Called Canon support and they had me check the lock switch and verify the menu settings with no luck. They told me to send it in for repair. :-(

Does the wheel actually rotate? Had you gotten it unusually wet prior to this problem? Did you try using it with more than one lens? Did you try it in other modes? Does it change the EC in Tv mode and Av mode? Did you try performing a full reset and removing the battery for a day? It may well need a trip to the factory, but it could also be a temporary electronic glitch. Try the reset and battery removal before before sending it in. You've got nothing to lose.

mwsilver, the wheel does rotate and the camera has never been wet or in extreme conditions. I tried it with all of my lenses and in AV,TV and manual mode and still nothing. I have not done a full reset or removed the battery for a day so I will give that a try. thanks for the tips and I will let you know how it goes.

Does it or does it not work for scrolling through your pictures in picture review mode?

Does the 7DII have a secondary battery? I once had a problem with my 5DII that was not resolved until I removed the 'clock' battery. I know I have a 7DII, but I have never looked.

Apparently it does have the clock battery but it is not removeable and is recharged via the main battery.
