I'm from West Virginia and always called one of these a buggy.

Buggy is fine by me but in the UK a buggy is usually what one uses to push a young child around :-)

The pushable conveyances for groceries are "shopping carts" in my regional dialect. Grocery employees probably call them just "carts." A baby buggy or baby carriage is a cot with frame, wheels, and canopy, for transporting small infants lying down. I don't hear "baby buggy" or "baby carriage" much anymore. They used to be everyday terms. People talk more about strollers, which are used when the baby is old enough to sit up and for some time after.

I call all of those buggies as well :p I don't think this is really a West Virginia thing, just the way my simple mind works. ;-)a

Here the baby device is called a barnevogn. Thought you'd want to know!

(Unless it's for two and then it's a duovogn. Or a collapsible when it's a klapvogn. You can probably guess what the kombivogn is ...)

On the other hand, this is a toy Tuborg ølvogn ... (cleverly bring us back on topic ! )

Interesting for those who like to trace words. "Bairn wagon."
