I liked it. There won't be very many complaints.

By default, DPP will save RAW edits in the metadata of resaved RAW files. However, you can chose to go to edit/save recipe to file (which saves the edits in a DR4 file). You then don't save the RAW, but have to load the recipe file the next time you open the RAW. I personally like the Adobe method. If I later go in and find I had a bad day editing, and it no longer looks right, I can just delete the XMP and start over again. Since I have to maintain the full Adobe CC subscription for my work, I find the whole subscription not too bad What's bad for professionals is if you're just a graphic artist or video editor: their subscriptions for one piece of software is relatively expensive. $10/month for the whole professional photography tools aren't too bad. Since I also need Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, AfterEffects, and Premiere, the full $50/month is needed. But it's normally $20/month just for one app. And as for disenchantment of LR (will Adobe change their subscription practice): nope, they won't. When CC first came out, I heard an outcry from graphics professionals saying they'd hang on to CS6 and/or find alternatives. Only some found alternatives: most stuck with Adobe for continued support/ business expenses. Canon 5D mk IV

You need to have the program open, and depending on software, may need to select “as shot” for all settings for each photo. With a folder with XMPs, I can select all and delete to revert. It has added lots of management and like most current RAW tools adds some post editing features built in to the workflow like masks etc. It is and has been the best image quality multi brand raw converter out there. It runs much faster than LR as well. This is a screen shot from my dual monitor set up,. NO other application handles dual screens better. (12 edits in all) | Oct 28, 2017 07:34 | #206 well I just revisited capture one again due to the fact new lightroom classic is running at a snails pace when I use multiple brush's on a single RAW image in "development". This is even after Adobe Product engineering promised me in writing that these same issues I was experiencing under Lightroom 6( I provided Adobe Engineering in India and USA a test catalogue) would be fixed in the next update( classic update)... For now anyway. If they start to charge I'll drop it. I had a website with Zenfolio. $140 a year plus Domain fees with Go Daddy. I just cancelled it. It was not for selling images. 10 years ago having a site was kinda cool but now everyone has them. Gonna through in some of my faves into portfolio. So I got the CC plan for free ![]() Does the Portfolio offer include unlimited storage of photos? If so, that would help with deferring some of my cost for the subscription, as I pay Smugmug $60 per year for online photo storage. I think I'm paid up with Smugmug until next August, so still lots of time to figure this all out.
