I used my new 24-70 this morning doing homeschool portrait sessions. I noticed that it didn't seem to lock in on spot focus point as nicely as my 70-200 f/2.8 IS lens does.
Is this normal?

Oct 20, 2017 16:17 | #2 From my experience with the 24-70 its not as sharp as the 70-200 but I never had any focus issues unless I was shooting in an extremely dark environment, not sure what you mean by spot focus but if the focus is significantly slower it might be a lens issues because it should focus very quickly 5D2, 24-70L F2.8, Sigma 85 F1.4, Sigma 50 F1.4, 70-200L F4 IS, 100-400 F4.5-5.6 II, 430EX II X 2, A few Pocketwizards

This wasn't sharpness, but just focus being a little slower than the 70-200. I may have CPS check it out; not sure if they still check the v1 out anymore. Sony A7r2|24-70 f/4 FE|85 1.8 FE|28 f/2 FE|Venus Laowa 15mm f/2|Habakkuk 2:2
