How do I sort New Posts by forum?

So that when New Posts is clicked, it will display

- new posts in forum 1
- new posts in forum 2
- etc.

as opposed to the default which seems to be sorted on most recent post with the forums all jumbled up

Click a forum name in new posts column 2 to access that forum’s index, it lists new posts in that forum only.

However, that method is really no different than going to each forum manually / individually. After New Posts is clicked, clicking on a forum name goes to the forum.

What would really be nice and convenient is this:

- Click on New Posts
- Click on the top of column 2 ("Forum") and have it sort on forum. That way bold new posts from each forum would be grouped together (by forum), and all new posts from all subscribed forums could be reviewed as one linear list on one page (New Posts).

Not a complaint. Just a suggestion.

If you'd get a list of new posts grouped by forum, what would the listing format be and how would that be useful? If there are e.g. 50 threads shown per forum, you can't see anything but one forum in one page, there are about 90 forums, 90*50 is 4500 threads to show (150 pages of lists).

We show latest posts in "legacy" format: from all forums, sorted by threads having latest posts because it is done so in all forums, it is the familiar way. It is more like "active threads display" than a real new posts list. The "real" individual new posts list is in https://photography-on-the.net/forum/new.php when you click "REPLIES" and "THREADS" and then browse it using "VIEW OLDER STUFF" command.

New ways to display content will come in time, I'm sure of it

Dropdowns make more sense in list contexts.

https://photography-on-the.net/forum/newposts​.php?followed=1 lets you list followed threads by forum (pick from the dropdown).

You can follow forums in the next version, and that gets its separate page in new posts set. There is so much in the new version that I'm keeping new features locked for a while, but all suggestions and ideas are welcome and will be considered.

I guess my vision would be a simple linear list of forums and posts like this:

FORUM A
- new post 1
- new post 2
- new post 3
FORUM B
- New post 1
FORUM C
- new post 1
- new post 2

and so forth.

to the right on each forum heading line might a a click to clear that forum
at the bottom and top of the list would be clicks to clear all forums

Tabs would be great, but I'm not seeing what your vision is.
So I guess I'll wait until the forum is updated and the changes are made.

Yes. I don't do gear lists so have never seen the gear display you posted, but yes - a listing with forums headers that are expandable or collapsible would be great. Along with an "expand all" clicker at the top. As far as making it an option later, I fully understand (and agree) that cosmetic changes like this are of a very low priority. I look forward to seeing it when available.
