I sold my A6300 at the beginning of the month with all my APSC lenses and accessories in anticipation of the A7RIII or A7III.
I wanted to jump to FF ship for some time, I think this is the one...
I believe the changes [dual SD, new battery, better EV, no overheating, usb3.1] and technology of this camera will at least be more than sufficient for most of my work for the next 2 to 3 years.

Dual SD slots alone makes it a worthwhile upgrade. I've got an A7R II and am thrilled in every way with exception of the single card slot. That's always been a concern for me shooting professionally. The only reason it's a risk I'm willing to take is because as a real estate photographer it's not like I can't reshoot a property if I need to.

104MB/s max read/write for 1st slot is UHS-I
312MB/s max read/write for 2nd slot is UHS-II

Ideally both slots should be UHS-III with a max read/write of 624MB/s.

This would allow essentially an unlimited buffer.

I hope this forces some innovation from the 5Ds R Mark II that will come out before 2020

Why? By 2020 these specs will seem rather limiting.

5Ds is now limited to a 167MB/s read/write memory card.

Really wish it was using a 600MB/s read/write card so it wouldnt fill up the buffer too often

Oh, I understand your reasoning but by 2020 600MB/s is going to be slow. Should be asking for 1GB/s at minimum.

Meh. I’ll wait til someone with gear adhd sells theirs in a few months

Going to put a mental note, 2700 target price. After a few months on the market, the A7rii briefly went on sale for that price, and I picked one up. Should the A7riii have a brief sale at that price, going to grab one.

I dont need it, but an improved shooting experience might be worth it.

Interesting for sure. I'd like to see how it would work for air shows.
