Rob. I don't know what Canon is thinking these days. I've been YouTubing today checking out the different first impressions and the difference in the Nikon 850 and Sony A7 reviews and when compared to the 6DII, the difference is stark. Nikon, Sony reviews are all glowing and exciting. The Canon ones are, well, it's nice but... Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Quite a few pros and cons to think about on that decision. if you use silent shutter a lot, dont think the a7riii will match up. I havent read about any fast readout, meaning light banding susceptible. Not the end of the world, but should be noted. Also, rolling shutter... Time to go SONY. If sony puts in the same eye detect af in the a7r3 that they have in the a9 where third party lenses ie canon lenses can also use eye af then there is no reason for me to stay canon. It will just be a simple uprade to a different camera body as if i stayed with canon the whole time. 6D; canon 85mm 1.8, Tamron 24-70mm VC, Canon 135L Canon 70-200L is ii

If so, is this a new feature to the Sony cameras or has it been available on other models? How effective is it? If doing portraits, do you even need to move a focus box around to identify the focus area?
