Does anyone know the cause of this err 20? I’ve read online that it’s the shutter unit? Or the mirror unit or main body motor. I’ve replaced the shutter unit myself but it’s still giving me the err 20, and also it won’t focus like before, what could be the issue?

It looks like an Err 20 is a "malfunctions related to the mechanical mechanism have been detected". So it could be the shutter, or mirror, or second mirror. Based on the info provided, I don't think anyone can really tell you much that you already don't know.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

So it’s more than just the shutter then... dang it. Thanks.

I don't think you can make that conclusion. It's possible. What happens when you press the shutter button? Does the mirror flip up? Shutter open? Nothing?

It doesn’t focus and it gives me an error. Mirror doesn’t flip or any motor moving

Is it even worth it to bring to a shop to get it repair or just sell it as parts?

I used 5DII is in the $800 range. The repair could be 1/2 that or more.

Ok thanks, I’ll bring it to a shop and have them repair it. Maybe they’ll be able to diagnose what’s wrong with it.
