More or less got out of most sports shooting for a number of reasons and spent time doing more event coverage and special assignment type work. I even sold everything but the 70-200 that might be capable but as we all know its like crack and recently I acquired a Sigma 120-300 OS. I finally got a chance to shoot some action with it this past weekend at my youngest's 5/6th grade football game. The conditions sucked (36 deg, wind, and a rain/snow mix) but hey, new glass wants what it wants so off I went. The lens performed very well (better than I expected to be really honest) and the 1D3 is still going strong. Here's a few samples from the game which we won 28-0 over the undefeated first place Avon Lake Shoremen. Most at wide open and at the long end, Sigma EX 1.4x tc was attached for all and all shot using a monopod which took some relearning for sure. These weren't processed with output size in mind just to quickly share so the full files definitely look cleaner.
