Both Adorama and B&H have it $100.00 off a lens that is already a bargain price :)

So... what do you think? 80% of the Canon 100-400L ii... or higher? I know this, it's a great lens for those of us on a limited budget... along with the various 150-600 third party lenses out there.

I'd easily give it 80%

Love the portability too, which really puts it in it's own class.

It appears to me this does not come with a Tripod Collar?

In the Adorama ad, under Specs it says Tripod Collar N/A

I saw nothing in the B&H ad.

Does Sigma make a Tripod Collar for this lens? Cost?

Correct, no tripod collar option. It is designed to be as lightweight as possible for handholding. for some this is makes it of no use, but for many eliminating the vestigial appendix is a plus.

If tripod mounting is important, look elsewhere.

DIY tripod collar is doable, but I imagine it'd be unlikely we'd see anyone mass producing these. See more here: https://www.dpreview.com …56110#forum-post-59559728 (external link)

I also do recall someone managing to fit a different lens's collar onto the lens, but it seemed mildly risky and I'd be really worried about the lens falling when not attached to the camera.
