Powershot G9 - RAW editor?

Someone asked me today about a RAW photo editor for their old Powershot G9. They are looking for something that is preferably free and easy to use. I mentioned DPP4 but looking on the Canon website it doesn't look like it's a download option for the G9. I personally use LR6 but I don't know if that supports the G9 or not and don't think they want to spend that kind of money. Any other recommendations?

DPP 4.7.20 added support for the G9. It's the latest version of DPP. If it's not available on the G9 support page, just download it from the support page of a more recent Canon camera.

Timing is everything! DPP 4.7.20 came out 17 October 2017. Just in case it is compatible only with

Mac OS v10.12, OS X v10.11 and OS X v10.10.

In the Windows world, it must be Windows 7 (32 or 64-bit) or higher.

I found it on the Canon USA website and sent him the link. I couldn't find it on Canon Canada so hopefully the US one will work.

Is it a "straight" G9 ( or the G9 X (or higher)? I don't think the straight G9 is compatible with DPP 4+ and that might be why you could not find it. 3.15.0 seems to the highest available. The G9 X and G9 Mark II both show 4.71 for DPP. Interestingly enough the date of 17 October is the same as 4.70.20.

This software is in a totally different league to DPP and I always use it for lens correction and denoising photos taken with my G12 and G5 X. There are many, many tools available yet it is easy to use. I have been using DxO for many years and can thoroughly recommend it.

DxO OpticsPro 11 is definitely worth considering, especially that it's currently offered for free. I've been playing with it for a few weeks, and there's a noticeable difference with the lens corrections. It seems to do a better job than anything else I'm using. And yes, there is a Powershot G9 module that you can install.
