Was the backdrop white? If so, it fooled your camera's meter and turned it into 18% gray, causing the important stuff to be underexposed.

Yeah, the costumes are cool, but the image is vastly underexposed.

Between this and the other posts I have seen from you your images are not sharply in focus.

I fear you may be using an inferior quality filter over the front of the lens. If true, remove the filter, reshoot, and I bet you'll see better results.
