I read it to be that a new Nik collection (not Photolab) will be out next year but there was no mention of free or paid.

I think common sense would dictate that a company would not pay money for something they don't intend to capitalize on.

I expect some existing presets to be made better or faster, and new presets to be added. The Nik suite was one of the most popular. People paid the high price for it before Google assimilated it, and continued to purchase it after google lowered the price.

There is value in the package and I expect Dx0 will profit from it. Offering it both as a standalone / PS or LL plugin and also as functions included within Photolab can prove profitable on many levels.

I put in my email address but after two attempts, have not received anything. Why do I feel like this is a user issue!?!

It actually wasn't as I had checked twice, but your comment made me go back and check around again. I ended up finding it in the "Promotions" tab in my gmail. I NEVER check that tab and I have been missing some great deals, lol! Thanks for the heads up and I can't wait to check out the software.

I reconfigured my gmails and removed all tabs except for the inbox. Yes, the inbox is overloaded, getting everything dumped into it, but like you, I discovered gmail / google is REALLY BAD at sorting mail.

You found missing offers, but they were, nonetheless, promotions. I found stuff like tutorials from software vendors that did not have a single word of "promotion" in them in the promotions tab and also classified as spam.

At least in my case, gmail's category sorting behavior was below poor.

I've been using DxO Optics Pro 11 for a week or so now. As a raw converter, I think it is about equal to LR. However, it lacks any ability to manage/tag/sort/select photos outside the current folder. If you can live without the huge data-management tools that LR supplies, DxO is worth a look.

Thanks. I missed that. It's often good to have a number of converters for those tricky images. If my main converter can do 90% I'm very happy. ACR sometimes gets some tricky fringing or highlight recovery for certain situation better than others. So I'll see if DxO has something unique.

Meh. I just installed it, it's pretty basic. I'll keep it just in case, but I don't see anything particularly interesting. Not everyone has LR, but I heard DPP has gotten a lot better and that is free too.

I still prefer DPP for raw conversion but keep DxO Optics Pro for chromatic aberration correction, where it excels.

It is NOT pretty basic. With any software that is new to you it takes time to get used to how it works. I suggest you should delve a bit deeper.

Sorry.

Try reading the reviews for this software. This is a good start: http://lifeafterphotoshop.com/dxo-optics-pro-11-review/ (external link)

Thought I would take a look at this just to see if it had anything to offer beyond PhotoNinja.

Anyone had trouble with this application and Windows 10 x64 .1703 release? I have installed it (and uninstalled it) twice with no luck. Starting it produces a WAIT cursor for 2 or 3 seconds and then nothing further. PC has 32GB of system memory and OS installed on an SSD.

May try the MacOS download and see what happens there.
