Hi All

Been trying to find a shutter count program for my 7D MkII.

No luck so far.

I haven't got a camera problem - just curious.

I contacted Cannon UK and got no sense - they were treating it as a top military secret - WTF - I'm now expecting MI5, the FBI and KGB to arrive any moment - Sorry I asked Mr Canon - please forgive me - I am only a loyal customer after all.

Its like having a car and the total mileage being concealed so only the manufacturers service agent can access it.

Anyway I'd be delighted if anyone can supply an answer.

Many thanks.

Ray

I bought an app called Shuttercount in the Apple Store and it worked perfectly on both of our 7d MkII's. No idea what to do if you do not have a Mac. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jim - I noticed that on the web - but decided as it was for Apple Mac I bypassed it.

I'm running Windows 10.

Regards

Thanks, Joe, for the info and links. It is nonsense that the shutter count is hidden by Canon, and it is great to have a way to access it.

Hi Joe

I've just got around to trying the software you suggested.

I took me a bit of time to work it out - but I got there in the end.

It gave me the answer I wanted - 39,000. Still I think that leaves me about 160,000 if I am lucky.

I had an idea I was running the count up - I'll have to avoid using the 7DII in continuous high speed mode as much as I am now.

Why the hell Canon regards this info as 'Top Secret' the mind can only boggle.

Anyway - many thanks for pointing me in this direction.

Regards

Ray
