32" LED TV as primary monitor

Is there anyone using an LED TV as monitor. This TV would not be used for any other activities apart from being a monitor setup(not switch back and forth between TV/monitor etc). I was looking at a 32" size since I would be sitting closer to it. The main reason of going the TV route is the cost point of view.

Does anyone have experience with getting a 1080P , 32" tv as their Main monitor. Any recommendations ?

Why not just get "dumb" monitor designed for using with a PC . There are a few budget ones around taht would be similar to a good brand 32" TV .
Also are you sure a 1080p will look ok. FYI 1080p is 1920x1080 resolution and on a 15.6-inch laptop screen the Windows desktop of windows 10 at 1080p looks ok from a few feet away but on a 32-inch HDTV screen…not so much. Regarding pixels.....A 15.6-inch laptop screen has the same number of pixels as the 32-inch HDTV screen, but the laptop has a much higher pixel density (141.21ppi) than does the HDTV (68.84ppi). Thus, the laptop’s screen will appear clearer, sharper, and more detailed than the HDTV’s screen when viewed from the same distance.What this means for you is that a larger but less pixel-dense HDTV screen will display text, icons, and images as blurry and difficult-to-read if you’re sitting at a normal viewing distance—a couple of feet—from your computer.

So unless your watching TV on it I suggest go higher than 1080p to 2560 or greater especially if your set is 32" or larger. See here for a reasonably priced graphics monitor that may fit with your budget.
