It seems most people like the evolv 200 yet there seems to be some occasional challenges as well. Do you think Godox addresses these issues as they are found,or will it be version 2 before corrections get implemented?

Those of you that have purchased them, would you buy them again?

A few challenges I read about:
1) Overheating
2)bulb head not working unless pressure is put against it
3) LCD screen not easy to read outdoors

Never had any of these issues. Only issue I ran into was the LED head not working, but a firmware update fixed that. Yes I would buy them again. In fact, about 2 weeks after I got my first I bought another one.

I have been using only Godox lighting since moving to Sony, and couldn't be happier. It's SO much better than the Yongnuo 600EX-RTs I used to use. There are only two things I would change about the lights I have, and neither of these issues are on the AD200. 1. I wish the flashes had quick attach / releases instead of screw mounts. 2. I wish you could turn off the flashing red light when the flashes are in wireless slave mode (maybe you can, but I have gone through the menus a ton and can't find it).

Didn't have these issues with mine either, and yes I would buy the unit again if I had a specific use for it. The only reason I moved on was to get the xplor 600.

Is the LCD easy to read outdoors in the full sun? NO but its not impossible.

I have mine for two months now and have been using it on my outdoor photo shoots a lot and don't have any of the issues above. Also, mine came with the current firmware so I didn't have to do any updates.

My second unit is coming soon and will be using it with the Godox AD-B2 adapter, this way I will have more flexibility. Although, I have never need it yet, I do have a spare bulb and battery, just in case.

The display panel is hard to read under bright sunlight, Yes, but for me it's a non issue, since I am making adjustments on either the trigger or camera. It would be a lot of work and wasted time to read the panel when it's up high on stand.

I trigger this with the Godox X1T, works great but often times my forehead touches the buttons and the setting changes, which many people have complain thru the web, so I got the new Xpro trigger, which is great btw and very happy with it so far for its ease of use. So, is Godox listening, maybe!

Where did you read about these problems? Besides LCD being harder to read outdoors, we haven't seen anything else mentioned here on POTN. For the price, what other better option is out there? Could it be better, yes but that is with all the products.

It took me a bit to find where I was looking at but here are two examples. Very well could be a a small problem with more happy customers than not.

(Look at the video 11:36 to 13:55 and also look in the comments section below the video. Several people chime in.)

Thanks. The youtube poster said smoking, that means bigger problems. I would have talked with Adorama. I haven't used my AD200 much as I already have AD600s and they have been running fine so far.

There isn't a brand out there that has a zero failure rate and given how many AD200/AD600 units are out there if they had a horrific design flaw there would be a lot more reports by now.

If you're doing critical work you need to have back up units and that is true for every brand, there's unlikely to be any fixes put out for current models, they'll just get replaced by new models rather than have expensive fixes unless it falls into the seriously dangerous design flaw category.

I have two of the evolv 200, and have used them in about six indoor photo shoots, and they have been very reliable. I shoot indoors in a somewhat small kitchen so they have never needed to be over 1/2 power so overheating has never been an issue, and recycle times are quick.

I have heard from many that the lcd is hard to see outdoors, but that would be no problem for me, because I use the X Pro C for all my settings. I have one ad 600, two evolv 200, and two V 860 flashpoint equivalents. I can control all of them with the X Pro C, and it allows HSS,TTL, and second curtain sync.

They all have been reliable, love this system!!
