Where are my videos?

I'm not a Mac user, but sometimes have to deal with one. To me this sounds a bit like Photos, or whatever it's called grabbing the files as they come in and putting them in their catalogue system. Because of how that system works, the files are embedded in the catalogue file, so cannot be accessed directly. I found this highly irritating when working with images on the system, since I would have to export them back out of the program, even though all that needed doing was put the images from a memory stick, and upload to website. I recall it doing something similar with videos too.

At this point I’d be inclined to call canon or Mac support.

That's probably the best idea. That's why I didn't have it.

Howard, do me a favor and explain to me why you couldn't find your videos. What was the problem. What was the solution.

Well, it's pretty straight forward. When I download my images, CR2 and video, only the CR2 files are present in the new folder. There will be missing file numbers where the video files would otherwise be. All searches for the videos prove fruitless on the Mac, though I can watch them in the camera. There has been no solution.

Holy video, Batman! I found my problem. After much searching, I came across an article about my situation on Cult of Mac. The 5D Mk III doesn't record to the SD card, as they are so slow. I've never checked the CF card, as I just pop the SD in my Mac to download files. I pulled out the old Lexar Pro card reader and Shazam, Sgt. Carter, there it is! Well, the test I just shot inside. Fortunately, nothing I've done in the past was critical.
