WD makes you reformat for MAC whereas the Seagate lets you go back and forth between the two without formatting. That's big for people like me who edit on a IMac but use desktops for web/social media etc.
My use for these WD drives is simply to take out the HDDs and use them in my NAS. This is where WD wins as this drives are NAS rated. Same drive, but bare, costs currently $274 at B&H: https://www.bhphotovideo.com …fzx_8tb_red_5400_rpm.html
As you can see, you can have 2 drives in price of 1.
Interesting that you work on two different computers/platforms. Why not use just one system for all your computer needs? Why can't you edit on PC? Why can't you do web/social media on the iMac?
