So. i had been pondering this for a week now, and finally pulled the trigger!
B&H had a deal that included the dock and it just felt right, I've been debating a few primes in this range, and this just was calling out to me.

To all the owners, what do you think? Been using this lens as much as you expected? more less?

I got mine around 6 months ago after buying the 50-100 f/1.8 and I use it every day for taking pictures of 3D printed parts at work. It's got a really good MFD allowing faux-macro work and the IQ is superb compared to my Canon EF-S glass. It's also my favorite lens to use for capturing indoor family gatherings and for use with flash.

Mine didn't need any MFA adjustment although my 50-100 did; the two lenses together make an amazing pair and are the crop equivalent of the goto full frame combo of 24-70 plus 70-200. I do wish they both had OS but I just use a monopod if I need to lower shutter speed and the f/1.8 seriously makes up for the lack of OS.

Awesome! I'm really excited about the glass! I have been considering the 50-100 next, but i do most of my shooting under 100, so i'm currently weighing the 85 1.4 vs the 50-100. Such is life! Tough choices must be made.

95% of my wedding photos (& everything else I shoot) is with the 18-35!
Get the dock to calibrate it. it is worth it! (just saw that it was included - great deal!)

I don't see the Sigma dock as a downfall but more of a perfectionist's ability to micro adjust!

I pair mine with the 50-100 1.8 on my 2nd body. Couldn't ask for anything better. It's like having every prime from 18 to 100 without having to change lenses so much!
Super heavy though. That's where the Spider Pro Duo holster homes in though ;)

Check the lens archive...is my favorite lens. Tack sharp at wide open. Phenomenal AF performance at wide open. I even shoot bike races with it.

I would have bought one for my new Canon M5, but decided to stick mostly with lenses that also work with my full frame bodies. But I'm sure I would enjoy this lens.

Price is reasonable too.

Don't use it a ton, but I'm sure glad to have it in the arsenal when the need arises; it's a great lens.

I'll definitely post some samples when it arrives! (likely of my cats, they are always the first most willing subjects
Anyone have any nightcape photos with this lens? I'd love to get a perspective of what to expect!

Definitely update the lens AF status. There are ways to correctly fine tune the AF...using the LiveView AF as a reference point to see if the viewfinder AF is accurate. I once shot the lens using a wrong AF fine setting (long story because my Tokiona 11-20 is using the same AF fine tune setting as my Sigma 18-35 and I forget to change the value back for the Sigma). Even with a wrong AF fine tune, the lens can focus OK about 60% of the time shooting at moving subject with AF C setting.

Can anyone here help looking at this picture and comment if that would affect image quality? There is a small scratch at the rear element of this Sigma 18-35 lens. ߘ

The Sigma 18-35mm f/1,8 is my go-to lens for general purpose and street photography.
After combing through reviews and recommendations, I too bite the bullet and bought it.

I would say its a great lens for DX / APS-C users....
Thanks Sigma Japan! :p
