First of all, I am a Canon user. But my father shoots Nikon. And I am looking for something for him for Christmas. He has a D7100 (I think) and a Sigma 150-600mm. I was thinking of getting him a 1.4 extender, but not sure which one. I see that Kenko makes a fairly good one and it gets good reviews. I don't think he needs the high end Nikon extender, he just doesn't use his big lens that often. Do any of you guys have suggestions on reasonably priced extenders for his setup? I appreciate it!

I currently use a Sigma 1.4 APO EX DG tele converter with my 120-300 OS. It works very well with negligible degradation in IQ or AF speed (this is on a D4 though). I'd probably be using the newer TC1401 if I was sure it was compatible (electronically) with my older lens. Yours being a 150-600 the TC1401 would work on your D7100, but only on centre point.

I would expect the Nikon TC-14 or Kenko. I've read plenty of good reviews from users of the newer Kenko tc's on Canon - I'd expect their Nikon versions to be just as good

Thanks. Sorry for the late reply, I didn't have the thread "followed". I spoke with my dad about how he using his camera and his lens and he didn't think he would use an extender. So, I just go him a polarizing filter for it, instead, for Christmas. He said he would use that, so all is good. Again, sorry for the late reply. I appreciate the input.
