Old Plane Wreckage

Was hiking to the top of Mt Konocti in Lake County CA and came across this plane wreckage. Apparently it is from the 1970's (I think), a couple was flying home to Ukaih and crashed in the mountain. Not really sure why they left some of the wreckage. There was a board with the story on it, but I did not get a pic of that.
