Digital Camera Speed Challenge #485 -- Wild

Open to your interpretation of "WILD", but preferably not just "portraits" of animals and birds.

RESULTS

A few comments:

Tom Reichner – a perfectly composed portrait of a magnificent animal and I appreciate the patience and expertise this took.

OldCrow – nice shot of the Trillium although not obviously wild – maybe more of the surrounding wilderness?

Owain Shaw - those fish look like a small species of shark (dogfish?) But the surface of that water looks decidedly scummy – maybe oil? Where was this taken?

texkam - that does indeed look like one wild and drunken lot! Despite the excess grain in the photo it definitely qualifies.

saea501 - don't know about wild but she's sure scary!

Winner: I'm going to give this one to texkam despite the grain, with Tom and saea501 as runners-up.

Cool. Thanks. This was a hastily captured moment during a World Cup match between Holland and Germany shown at a Dallas restaurant that's a big Dutch hangout. Good fun and definitely a wild place that day.

I'll get the next challenge up directly.

It was taken in the harbour in Donosti (San Sebastian) in the Basque Country. That explains the oil. While not exactly out at sea, I considered neither the fish nor the gull to be domesticated nor tame therefore hence, Wild enough.

She is.

Yes, you should be scared. She always made me very nervous in certain situations.

So ....... what is your connection to her? . Whenever I would see your avatar I always thought she was just some model that you hired for a shoot, but your comments lead me to believe that you know her on a different basis.

I went to your Flickr page to see more of your work featuring this model, but all I saw were bird photos.

No, she's not a model that I hired for a shoot and yes, I do know her on a much different basis.

I got involved with her some years ago and I was just knocked out by her presence. She can walk into a room with a hundred people in it and within seconds the room goes silent, mostly because everyone is looking at her. To be any where in public with her is a trip because everyone is looking. She's gorgeous, she's very intelligent, she's intriguingly wicked and she's a pretty good photographer. So she has been a great help to me in that regard. Plus, she most always wears these heels that are very high so she's about six feet tall. Hard to miss. I feel very lucky to know her.

What more can a body ask?
