If anyone's running Karen's Replicator on Win10 to copy files and wondering why it isn't functioning properly (or worse, running it and not noticing..)
There has been a windows update that breaks the permissions it seems. Cure is to specify the I/P address of the machine in the job.

e.g original job copy
source folder
d:\

to

destination folder

e:\

now involves:
source folder
\\192.168.1.254\d$\ [or whatever your machine address is]

to

destination folder

\\192.168.1.254\e$\ [or whatever your machine address is]

symptoms of the problem involve not being able to create any new folders (and therefore anything within...) I don't ever duplicate any deletions so don't know if that works or not.

works fine if I/P address is specified.

Can't help as I'm running Windoze7 & am sorry to see that as it's a nice app. It won't be updated as you probably know that Karen passed some time ago.

Good discussion on this issue at https://forums.majorgeeks.com …karens-replicator.316317/ (external link). There are some suggested alternatives and someone who got it working (see response #29) and in addition #30.

Also a good thread at https://windowssecrets.com …-Karen-s-replicator/page3 (external link). See page 3 responses #39 and #40 where some people got it working. It even looks like a revision may be in the works.

cheers John - I probably should have copied links to the discussion. [memo for next time...]
