I have a brand new iMac and I am brand new to Mac OS so I am sure the issue is me rather than the equipment.

The issue is I shoot in Raw, I use Lightroom classic

When I import I plug in my sd card and send it through the usb.

I let Lightroom tell what folder because I really don't know how Mac handles raw files. Lightroom sent it to "pictures" in a dated folder

I click import and all files import fine, but as soon as their done importing they become color bars and 1,4 pictures with all sorts of white diagonal lines through the rest of the picture.

I deleted the whole import and tried again, same thing.

I made my own folder on the desktop labeled it RAW and just downloaded the files directly from the SD card through USB and into the file I just created.
They download fine and when I open the file in the iMac app "Photos" they all appear fine (I guess photos has a raw converter?)

I then try import into Lightroom from MY file and then the files are broken again.

Whats going on here is it Lightroom.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

On edit; just tried a different sd card and have the same results.

Did you update the adobe software and not reboot your Mac?

If so

Reboot.

Just did all up to date.

I've been trying different folder destinations, I've tried to import from different sources....I am at a loss.

Highly unlikely it would have anything to do with where the files are stored. Unlike windows, Mac OS is very capable when tracking file locations.

Something is wrong with Lightroom. Maybe uninstall and reinstall.

I just uninstalled/Re-installed Lightroom, again same result.

I did not uninstall and re-install Adobe, I don't really know how to do that, is it just a matter of dragging to the waste basket. There is no uninstall option as there is for Lightroom.

Bummer. Do you shoot in raw and .jpg?? If so can you see the .jpg files?
Were the pictures on the two sd cards shot at the same time??
On the same camera?? Can you see any pictures in lightroom??
Can you download any pictures from the net and import them into lightroom??

can you put your sd card into a card reader and try and look at the files with the preview application?? If you can see it in preview then the file is ok, if you can't see it in preview then the file itself is corrupt.

Try copying raw files to a folder, then synchronize functionality in Lightroom.

No, RAW only

Cards were shot same day from same camera.

I just open Bridge and see the RAW files in bridge uncorrupted, I then did the same for Photoshop and it works fine there...Must be a problem with Lightroom Classic and also Lightroom CC, they both show corrupted files.

No Never damn mind, I spoke too soon. I look at the downloaded files in both photoshop and Bridge and they're corrupted as well.
