Heya,

This one has taken me a while to finally decide to let her go. Up for grabs is my last 5Dc. This camera really started everything for me in many ways. I've had several 5Dc's now and have just really loved the color and RAW files they output. I don't think you will find a less expensive full frame experience out there. If you've seen my photos and by others in the 5Dc thread and around POTN, you know what this camera can still do and is still one of the most highly active full frame cameras out there with a ton of users still.

This is of course a well worn 5D, but she functions flawlessly and doesn't miss a beat. Everything functions as it should, buttons are still good and tight. The body is worn in the usual places you'd expect. There is of course no shutter actuation count, so just assume it's probably on the high side (it was 2nd hand to me). It's had any fixes performed to my knowledge, and again, is still functioning flawless to this day. It comes with the Canon grip, 4 batteries (a mix of Canon and third party), the Canon battery charger and a Sandisk Extreme III 4Gb CF card to get you going fast. There is no original box or other accessories. Everything you see in the images is what is in this bundle. This camera has no problem with modern lighting too, such as high speed sync triggers (including third party ones, like YN622's, R2, etc) and works great with third party lenses without any issues (Sigma, Tamron, etc), also trips third party flashes no problem too (Yongnuo, Flashpoint, etc).

Read this:

This camera has the Canon Super Precision Matte focus screen installed in it, not the standard one, which allows for precision manual focus via the view finder (focus by depth of field) with fast aperture lenses up to F2.8. So if you're interested in using vintage glass and fast primes that are fast aperture (F1.4 to F2.8) it will let you easily manually focus (and AF) in those ranges which opens a lot of doors for vintage glass use. If you're planning on using slower glass (F4~5.6 or slower) you will probably want to install a standard focus screen or grid focus screen (you can still buy them new for the 5D from B&H (external link)). I rarely shoot slow glass, so I've always used the Super Precision ones. The standard screen is not provided in this bundle, just the Super Precision Matte that is installed.

(I have the 17-40L & 5DC both for sale now, if you buy both, I'll discount for both as a bundle)

Camera Model: Canon 5D Classic (MK I)
Body Condition: 7/10 (for scuffs, any wear & tear, all buttons and ports work perfectly, all port covers present, everything works as it should), operation is 10/10.
Number of Shutter actuations: No way to know, I got it 2nd hand a while back, so consider it high but it's still got a ton of life and is not showing any signs otherwise
Sale Includes: Canon 5D, Canon BG-E4 Grip, Canon CG-580 Charger, 4x BP-511 Batteries (1 Canon, 3 Third Party), Canon Body Cap, Sandisk Extreme III 4Gb CF Card, Canon Super Precision Matte Focus Screen (installed)
Price: $250 shipped & any fees covered. Price is firm as it's already the lowest price you will find for this bundle in this condition with all the kit included here.
Payments Accepted: Paypal
Best Contact Method: PM or this thread
Feedback: I'm all over the feedback thread, all of it positive, take a look if you feel the need
Reason for selling: I moved to mirrorless (Fuji) and after a while I am finally comfortable enough to let my dSLR's go. It's still hard for me to consider this, as I love this camera, but I have to be rational

I was going to keep it and see if it would hit 20 years. But, I had to be rational about it and can't juggle several systems.

But, now someone else can experience full frame that is still very relevant and modern in many ways on a dime.

Very best,

The 5Dc is a great camera; one of the few I've had that I wish I'd kept.
This is the best price I've ever seen for a 5Dc, let alone the extras!
I've purchased two cameras from Mr. Wise. I'd buy this one, but my wife thinks 3 SLRs is enough. (But, somehow 42 pairs of shoes is insufficient.)

GLWS. Someone will be getting a bargain!

Thanks,

I thought I would wean myself from the 5Dc with a 1Ds Mark II but that didn't last and I let it go within a few months.

The only reason I'm able to finally let this go, easily my favorite camera of all time, is a smaller mirrorless system with small lenses that are 100% manual with an EVF with good focus peaking. Just took a few years for it to finally be developed enough for me to even consider a switch out.

I actually still miss the 1D classic!

Very best,

Shocking. Mine remains within arms reach, something about cold, dead hands, but I've learned to never say never. I've used the T-1 & X100S on and off - but still prefer the DSLR (1DX2 to SL1, etc). Lately, I'm partially back with film - on nikon, canon, a leica m3 & a hassy. there's something about hanging a strip of film to dry before scanning negs. thus, my once modest canon kit has morphed into a collection and one that needs serious pruning.

Good luck with your sale. At your asking price, it can't last long!

Happy holidays,
dale

Thanks, yea it's tough. Took me a while to finally get to this point (had two 5Dc's together, akimbo, at all times). Sold one 5D a while back to reduce down as I had over 9 cameras at the time and was considering the switch finally to mirrorless (at least for my general stuff and portrait). I had to shoot my new system a while to finally know I could let the 5Dc go. I thought about keeping it. But it opened so many doors for me, it's time for it to open doors for someone else.

I'm still shooting my 1D and long glass.
My day to day stuff though is now X100S and X-T1 with 100% manual lenses.

The 5D's sensor is just so good still, the RAW files are so nice to process, I have a lot of big prints from this girl and here I go thinking about retracting this! hah!

Congrats on the sale.

I still have mine. I don't know why I haven't sold it. I haven't used it much at all and picked up a 6Dc a few months ago now.

I guess I remember when we bought our youngest son a 5D when they had only been on the market for a short time. His contax film camera had just bit the dust and he was without a camera. We got the 5D for his birthday, along with a few lenses.

Long story short, he has some amazing photographs from that camera. I also remember what we paid for the bundle and what I paid for my 5Dc... about a 1/10th of the price of the camera alone. Mine is in perfect condition with the box, grip, etc etc. I should sell it.... but I won't for now. ;)
