New Ball Head

Hi All,
I just bought a new tripod (Sirui W-1204). Now I need to choose a ball head. I use a Nikon D5500 and my biggest lens is a tamron 150-600. My goal is smooth and durable while not breaking the bank. Am I better off with a Sirui KX or GX. And then, an X10, 20, 30? Or should I stray from Sirui for the ball head.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

The K30-X should do the job.

Very best,

I find the Sirui K--X series ball heads very good and sensibly priced. I think MalVeaux's suggestion of the K30X should fill your needs very nicely.

Remember, though, that if yo are after moving subjects then Ball Heads are not the best choice - I prefer a Gimbal for this sort of thing. However for static subjects, where you want to get on to them reasonably quickly, the a good ball head is just the job. The K series Sirui heads are good.

I seldom use my RRS ball head these days. I use my gimbal for almost everything unless I'm using my 6Dc for landscapes and want to shoot them from a portrait position.... then I use the ball head and make use of the L bracket because I am likely using a lens without a tripod foot.

I own the K30-X and am very happy with it.
Outstanding quality for the money.
