I took pictures of a yoga instructor for an online album. I have a couple of older flash units with umbrellas with off camera triggers but the refresh time was a pain so we abandoned them and just used the available light in the studio.
Going to do more and I wanted comments on fluorescent bulb heads.
I like the idea that they are pretty inexpensive but will they give me the coverage required to shot a full length body.
I thought that two units would probably work but not sure on the number of bulbs per head to get.
Thoughts and comments would be appreciated.
Are you restricted to modifier with the heads that hold a greater number of bulbs.

Fluorescent Lighting can be a PITA. I'd be more inclined to add a adjustible flash to your kit. The ability to adjust the power can give you very fast recycle times. And you said that you're shooting yoga? When did those people ever move fast? ; D

Multiple exposures of the small changes in a pose require pretty rapid shots. What are the drawbacks to fluorescent ?

7D2, 80D, 1DX2, 5D4 have a setting to help you avoid the effects of fluorescent flicker in your photos.

You better use fluorescent units with very high cyclic rates of electrification, or else standard 60Hz line voltage forces you to shoot at 1/120 or 1/60 or 1/30 or slower, due to cyclic color changes during a single half-cycle or full cycle of the bulbs.

Some newer cameras (7D2, 80D, 1DX2, 5D4) have a setting to workaround the issue. I have not evaluated it to assess the degree to which it alleviates issues of color accuracy for those shooting situations which are not forgiving (e.g. product shots of textiles and clothing)
