Levina, I didn't realize how much the holiday customs differ between Europe and America. Most of us over here save our decorations from year to year.

How many balls did you have to shatter to get the second shot?

Levina, drastic way to put away the decorations. Didn't you have a Merry Christmas?

LOL. Maybe the beer did help, Jo!

Ohlook, people stash away their Christmas decorations here too until the next year. But I don't celebrate Christmas (so it wasn't much of anything, Don :-P ) and these decorations were stashed away in some forgotten closet somewhere from way way back and they're ancient. So it was quite all right to smash them. It took two balls to get an acceptable result.

I shot it in natural light but there wasn't much of it. Of course if I had a flash I could have frozen the movement much better. So now I'm looking at lights again and again I'm not buying because I don't know what to get... I'm hopeless!

By the way, Levina, it's refreshing to see a hammer held correctly. I've watched carpenters pound nails while holding the center of the handle. Holding the end produces much better leverage and requires less effort.

Only two balls? And you think you're the hopeless one!

Yeah, but man, swinging a hammer at a Xmas ball?! It threw the pieces across half my living room! I was on my socks and had to walk very carefully to get to the vacuum cleaner! It's true.

I used a remote shutter control, so I could kinda time it pretty well. I just had to hit the hammer and press the button at the same time.
